An early pregnancy scan can be performed from 6 weeks of pregnancy at The Pregnancy Experts. The scan will confirm the viability of your pregnancy, confirm how many weeks pregnant you are and provide an Estimated Due Date (EDD).

The scan is particularly useful for women who need reassurance early in pregnancy and wish to ensure that their pregnancy is developing as expected. If you are unsure of your dates we can help you determine when your baby will be due.

If your pregnancy symptoms are causing you concern or you have a history of miscarriage or IVF then you may wish to seek early reassurance with an early pregnancy scan. 

​

The early pregnancy scan is easily performed from 7 to 12 weeks gestation - these scans are usually performed transabdominally (through your tummy). 

​

From 5 to 7 weeks gestation of pregnancy a transvaginal (internal) ultrasound scan may be required to properly assess the fetus. 

​

We ask that you attend your appointment with a moderately full bladder as this will improve the visibility of the pregnancy during the scan.
